Chennai: Robbers have gained entry into a house in the absence of the owners at Maduravoyal and decamped with gold jewellery and gadgets.
According to the police, the complaint was filed by Shanker (46), who lived in the house with his family at Krishna Nagar.
Gold jewellery weighing 12 sovereigns, two television sets, a watch, two DSLR cameras, a tripod and a Kamakshi lamp were stolen from the house.
On 15 May, the family went to their native place Sivakasi for a baby shower function and returned this morning. They found the main door lock tampered with and the handle removed.
A team of police, led by an assistant commissioner, arrived at the spot at 7.50 am. The forensic team lifted four fingerprints from the spot. The police are going through CCTV visuals of the area.
